GPT-5.6 in Ayeto: Meet Sol, Terra and Luna

What's New

We've added OpenAI's new GPT-5.6 model family to Ayeto. It's not a single model but three tiers, so you can match the model to the task – and to your budget:

  • GPT-5.6 Sol – the flagship for your hardest work: coding, knowledge work, research, cybersecurity.
  • GPT-5.6 Terra – a balanced everyday model, performance-competitive with the previous GPT-5.5 but cheaper.
  • GPT-5.6 Luna – the fastest, most affordable model for high-volume and simpler tasks.

According to OpenAI's announcement from July 9, 2026, Sol, Terra and Luna are "durable capability tiers" – the number marks the generation, the name marks a lasting category. In short: when the next generation ships, your selection logic stays the same.

Why We Wanted It

Ayeto's philosophy is simple: no vendor lock-in. You assign each assistant exactly the model that makes sense – and now you get a whole new OpenAI range alongside Anthropic, Google, xAI and Moonshot.

What's interesting is the angle OpenAI is taking: more useful work out of every token. On Agents' Last Exam (long-running professional workflows across 55 fields), Sol scored 53.6 – 13.1 points above Claude Fable 5 in adaptive mode. And Terra and Luna reportedly beat competitors at a fraction of the cost – exactly the "performance per dollar" math that matters when a team shares a credit pool.

What It Means for You

  • Pick the model for the job. Complex code review or a polished deck? Reach for Sol. Routine emails and summaries? Terra or Luna do the same for less.
  • Save credits. OpenAI's indicative pricing per 1M tokens: Sol $5 / $30 (input/output), Terra $2.50 / $15, Luna $1 / $6. On bulk workloads, the Sol-vs-Luna gap is huge.
  • Compare for yourself. In Model Comparison, run the same prompt across Sol, Terra and Luna side by side and see response, timing and credit cost. Model Comparison

GPT-5.6 also made a big leap in interface design, presentations and documents, and in tool use – handy for anyone building assistants wired into real workflows in Ayeto.

Try It Now

You'll find the new models in each assistant's settings, under model selection. Spin up an assistant, switch it to GPT-5.6 Sol, Terra or Luna, and tell us which one fits you best.
